Getting involved

We are a small school and welcome involvement from parents, carers and family members who wish to get involved and support us. There are a range of ways you can help.

Parents & Friends Group

The TDPS Parents and Friends Group is an enthusiastic group of volunteer parents who work to support the school through running fundraising and social events. These help to build a strong sense of community and also provide valuable funds to improve the facilities and resources available to teachers and students.

P&F Group activities include:

  • Welcome events for new families
  • Stalls for Mothers' Day and Fathers' Day
  • Trivia Night
  • Sports Day
  • Fun Run
  • School lunch orders
  • End of term BBQ
  • Friday fresh fruit platters
The P&F Group meet monthly, generally informally over a cup of tea or coffee, often after assembly. Advance notice of all meetings is included in the School Newsletter and Konnective App. Even if you can't commit to joining the P&F Group and attend all meetings, we’d love to see you when you can make it or add your name to our 'helpers' list for any events during the year that suit you.

Trivia Night Committee
Our Annual Trivia Night is our major fundraising event of the year and a night not to be missed! Our committee is alwyas looking for helpers to support this fantastic event.

Classroom helpers

Talk to your child’s teacher about what help they may need in the classroom. It may be supporting reading or maths, going on excursions or working on a special project the class is undertaking. We are always keen to hear from people with interesting backgrounds or unique skills that may be utilised to broaden our students experiences.

Working Bees

Working bees in the garden and grounds are held every term, usually on a Saturday. Bring your family along and join other families in weeding, spreading mulch, pruning the fruit trees or maintaining the vegetable garden, and help keep our grounds safe and attractive for our students. We usually end the morning with a sausage sizzle lunch.

If you can’t attend but would still like to help in the garden, speak to the principal about what jobs may be needed that you could complete in your own time.
